Reflecting the ethos and interests displayed in other Avalon projects, Avalon Pictures has a clear mission– to produce financially successful films that are at the same time of historical and cultural significance. Films based on fact, but presented in a fashion that seeks to maximize the entertainment value of the truth. At the heart of our approach is the importance of retaining control of the ideas for the films – either by originating or holding exclusive rights to them. Based in New York, Avalon Pictures’ films may be shot anywhere in the world, and distributed globally – both for theatrical release and in ancillary markets.

Kevin Hyman – President
Working under Ted Waitt’s direction as President of Avalon Pictures, Kevin brings with him over twenty years of film industry experience. He has a proven track record of responsibility to his investors, as well as a history of working on award-winning and box-office friendly films.

From 2002-2004 Kevin was Head of Production at Focus Features where he supervised the production management of award-winning films such as ‘Brokeback Mountain’, ‘The Constant Gardener’, ‘Vanity Fair’ and others. As Head of Production at Miramax Films & Dimension from 1996-2002 he oversaw the production of over a hundred films – including ‘Gangs of New York’, ‘Shakespeare In Love’, ‘Good Will Hunting’, ‘Scream’ and ‘Scary Movie’. Prior to that he was Vice-President at Film Finances – a completion bonds company – monitoring over forty films in production at once.

He is also the Managing Member of Pivotal Post – the leading digital editing rental business in the industry, servicing most of the major studios and independent films all over the world. Avalon is the largest shareholder of Pivotal Post.
